I Got Skillz

I Got Skillz is an on-line contest where people submit video clips of themselves doing tricks, feats and displaying their own unique skills. It would be similar to the "Stupid Human Tricks" segment on Letterman, but would be an "open call" on the Internet. The entries would be submitted as an audition tape where people would be auditioning any strange abilities they possess. The idea is to virally bring those that are highly skilled in the most bizarre ways imaginable into the competition. We want the world to marvel at the most freakish acts of physical and intellectual ability a human being can accomplish.

The on-line competition would take place after a set deadline for submission has passed. With moderators monitoring the entries*, each clip would be graded by those who viewed it. Ideally, we create an environment that is viral, with viewers finding audition clips and e-mailing them back and forth to each other. An alternative way that a clip could be graded is simply how many hits it had over the duration of the open round.

The people with the highest grades at the end of the "open round" of the competition move on to the second round. They must make another video of their trick -- after which the field would be reduced to a field of 64. And then a tournament, live via the internet, begins. Winners are decided by a voting system like American Idol, with the help of an "expert" panel consisting of three "personalities" -- ideally a good stand up comic, a D-list bimbo type, and a villain -- again, an Idol type panel that relishes in the absurdity of the competition, but can still marvel and enjoy the wackiest skills human beings have.

There could be an international competition as well -- like a European Group, East Asia group, etc. etc. ... leading to the world title that would attract an international audience.

*Moderators obviously need to monitor the entries closely for content. Any trick with explicit sexual content, excessive violence or any act that puts the individual in danger would immediately be deleted from the site and would be stricken from consideration.
